Cadillac’s first entrant into the luxury electric vehicle market, the 2023 Lyriq SUV, is expected to debut in early 2022. The Lyriq, which will be available in both single-motor rear-wheel-drive, and dual-motor all-wheel-drive versions, will boast a driving range of 300 miles.

Power and Performance

With the availability of an all-wheel-drive option, the Cadillac Lyriq will come standard in rear-wheel-drive form. The standard, single Ultium Drive electric motor sits on the rear axle and will produce 340 horsepower and 324 pound-feet of torque. The all-wheel-drive model will feature a second motor added to the front axle.

Battery Life, Range, and Charging

The debut of the Lyriq coincides with the launch of General Motors’ new line of EV battery technology. The scalable Ultium technology allows for battery sizes that range from 50.0 kWh to 200 kWh. Cadillac’s luxury SUV will offer a battery with around 100-kWh worth of capacity – which should translate into more than 300 miles of driving range per charge.

    The Lyriq’s impressive dashboard is dominated by its 33.0-inch curved, advanced, LED display. This serves as both the driver’s gauge display and the vehicle’s infotainment system. Infotainment options will include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. When it comes to sound, drivers and passengers alike will enjoy the 19-speaker stereo system created by the high-end audio experts at AKG.

    Driver-Assistance and Safety Features

    While you will find all the expected driver-assistance features, Cadillac’s Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving technology will be available as well.
